Winter wash routine: beat salt and slush

Road salt eats clear coat faster than summer sun. The winter rule is simple: wash more often, dry door seals every time, and never let slush sit in the wheel arches for a week.

Wash every ten days

Salt bonds in about a week. A tunnel wash with an underbody rinse every ten days breaks the cycle — that underbody pass matters more in February than any wax.

Dry the seals

Frozen doors tear rubber seals. After every wash, wipe door, boot and bonnet seals dry and add a thin silicone stick coating once a month.

Protect before the first freeze

A sealant top-up in late autumn makes winter dirt release with a rinse. If you missed it, book one now — it still pays off through March.
