Summer is the hardest season your paint will face. UV bakes contaminants into the clear coat, lovebugs etch within forty-eight hours, and a midday wash can leave mineral spots before you finish drying. Here is the routine our crew recommends from June through September.
Wash weekly, rinse often
A full wash every seven to ten days is the baseline. Between washes, a plain-water rinse every couple of days keeps dust and pollen from bonding — no soap needed, just knock the film off before the sun bakes it on.
Never wash in direct midday sun
Soap and water dry in minutes on a hot panel, leaving spots that need polishing to remove. Wash before 10am or after 5pm, work one panel at a time, and keep the whole car wet until the final dry. Our tunnels run filtered, cooled water all day, which is why a drive-through beats a driveway in July.
Bugs come off now, not Saturday
Keep a damp microfibre and a spray bottle of quick detailer in the boot. Wipe splatter within a day or two — bug acids start etching clear coat fast in heat. Never scrub dry; soak first, then lift.
Top up protection monthly
A spray sealant after your monthly wash takes ten minutes and doubles the life of your gloss through summer. If you are heading on a long road trip, book a sealant top-up the week before — it makes the post-trip cleanup dramatically easier.
